Tree and Shrub Planting

Riparian tree, shrub, and grass plantings act as a buffer between developed or agricultural land and streams. Riparian planting improves water quality by reducing soil erosion and absorbing and filtering nutrients that cause water pollution. Trees and shrubs also provide habitat for wildlife and stream shading, which reduces the impact of solar radiation on water temperatures.
