In 2005, 5,115 ft of natural channel design was completed on the lower section of George Creek for steelhead passage and long-term spawning and rearing. Historically, this sections flows go sub-terrain in the summer. Instream structures will provide resting areas for adults and juveniles migrating out during spring flows. Structures installed include 1 W-Weir, 8 Cross Vanes, 51 J-Hooks, 1,730 feet of Channel Plugs and 1,211 feet of Flood Plain Roughness. This section of George Creek has also been enrolled in CREP (Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program), planted with trees, shrubs, and grass, and fenced.
