Alternative Water Developments

Springs and wells are developed to provide water for livestock. Watering facilities, including troughs, tanks and pipeline are installed to provide an alternative source of water for livestock. Alternative water sources reduce livestock impact on the riparian area and fish and wildlife habitat, improve water quality, protect and enhance vegetative cover through proper grazing distribution, and provide erosion control through better grassland management.
